One of our tasks was to create a "Photo Essay", to be able to communicate a story through imagery, and have it unique and personally applicable. I chose to do something most people would find mundane and uninspired - how to make a baguette turkey sandwich. However, the process is actually quite personal to me: when I was very young, my aunt (who was taking care of my siblings and I at the time) came up with a way to put together lunches for us using whatever ingredients we had at home, since she couldn't drive and we struggled to get out of the house. One of my favorites was the baguette turkey sandwich, and for years, I've never changed the process of how I make it at home, following exactly what my aunt used to teach me. Although, at the end of the day, it is just a sandwich, it brings back many fond memories for me about my time with her. This is the process she taught me, and what I have never changed.
